The Movement Factory

The Movement Factory is an award-winning community dance empire, home to several initiatives working together collectively to give The Movement Factory a unique and revolutionary presence within the UK Dance industry. It is led by Leanne Pero, an incredible dancer, award-winning entrepreneur, author, mentor and breast cancer survivor. She is a real glue holding the community together, and her students and mentees are a true reflection of her strength and creativity.

Consumer Chats, Laylow

We met with six respondents of different backgrounds and diasporas in West London - including Marco and his brother. For these sessions, we asked the respondents to bring along something that reminds them of ‘home from home’, and to talk about themselves and their identity in London today.

Spurs REACH

Spurs REACH is a brand new collective of Spurs fans keen to expand the Club's reach to existing and prospective new fans from diverse & under-represented ethnic backgrounds. It is now recognised by the Club, and is founded by three incredible fans. We met at the first UK Community-owned pub near to the stadium.

Held at a space celebrating local talent in Peckham, we met with 6 respondents from South American and South Asian diasporas. 

Fats Shariff Dinner

Fats’ background is Arab, Afro, and Indian although he is a Londoner born in Chiswick, West London in 1966. Lance, who joins Fats, is Guyanese while Sarah, who completes the trio, is a Londonder who works for Lambeth council. As a trio, they are an older generational cohort when it comes to the Cultural Crossover, sitting between the new gen and ‘elders’ [essentially, Gen Xers].
